ADR Workshop
The automated dialogue recording session has been one of the most successful so far.
For the session, we were given a section of film from Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011) and two people had
to ADR the lines of Jack Sparrow and Captain Teague. In this practical, I
worked on Audition to set cues and record the others as they recorded over the
original lines. By recording straight into Audition helped to make it easier
for myself and others to see if the recorded tracks synced up well with the
onscreen movements. Also by recording into Audition, it sped up the editing
process as we were not messing around with SD cards and transferring the files.
In the portfolio later, it would be good to have a set up like this, especially
when re-recording the footsteps of the characters on screen. Unfortunately, the
files from this session were misplaced before we had a chance to get a copy of
it.
